Foundational Elements

Goals

What should the future of your business look like? What does that mean for marketing and sales? Let's set clear goals and benchmarks for everything from website traffic and lead generation to new customers and revenue.

Products & Services

Every item we sell (or hope to sell) needs to be clearly understood. Which products and services are most popular? Most profitable? Why are people motivated to buy our products and services?

Competitors

Let's understand your competition. In what ways are we stronger than them? How do we struggle to keep up with them? Are there any examples of things our competitors do that we want to emulate?

Buyer Personas

Even if you’ve already developed this, we will ask for this documentation before the project begins. We’ll come in with a thorough understand of your personas and what motivates each of them.

Technology

What technology or software platforms are we currently using? How are we using them? How effective are they? Do we need to consider switching platforms or investing in new technology?

How Can We Grow?

We've outlined the 6 practical opportunities to grow a business. Our engagement will determine how we will prioritize and specifically pursue each one of these growth opportunities.

Get Found Online

It's a lot easier to grow when search engines direct more people to your website. This can be accomplished with the right website and content strategy. When combined with the right lead generation and sales strategy, increased website traffic almost always translates into more leads and clients.

Generate More Leads

We want our website to drive more people to take action - whether that be to inquire about our services, schedule a consultation, attend a webinar or subscribe to our emails. Other tactics that can generate more leads include advertising campaigns, content offers and events.

Increase Closing Rate

We call this Sales Enablement. It's a multifaceted effort to help your sales team uncover and close more deals. Leverage a combination of content, technology and rituals to streamline outreach, add more value and powerfully establish points of differentiation.

Nurture More Contacts

An email newsletter is a perfect example of this, but it's certainly not the only way. There are many benefits to delivering relevant, timely insights to your clients, prospects and partners on a regular basis. You add more value. You stay top-of-mind. You increase client referrals and potentially up-sells.

Engage Your Customers

How can we add value beyond what services they've contracted us to provide them? Email them insights. Survey them for feedback. Gather and share testimonials. Market additional services to them and incentivize them to refer new prospects to us. Maximize the potential of your customer base.

Increase Partner Referrals

Most fast-growing companies are able to rely on a steady stream of referrals from a network and/or key partners. We will explore ways to identify and incentivize select partners to refer clients to us and create marketing and sales campaigns to keep in front of those audiences and drive outcomes.

Actionable Elements

Website

Even if we're not building your website for you, we need to reach a common understanding of what our website should accomplish for us. Then we need to make sure it's tailored to do just that. This will make more sense once we develop our content strategy - as good websites a built specifically to accommodate content and facilitate engagement and conversions.

SEO & Content Strategy

A key to long-term, sustainable growth is ranking high on search engines for specific key words and receiving steadily increasing website traffic from organic sources. We'll identify target keywords and devise a plan to ensure we grow our organic website traffic accordingly, which can include blogging, podcasting, videos, social media and marketing and more.

Lead Generation

The goal of a website - and the output of most content - is leads. Let’s explore the best practices for lead generation and figure out best opportunities for generating leads while working within our content strategy and core content platform(s). This will include landing pages and content offers, but those are by far not the only reliable methods for generating leads and growing your contact database.

Lead Nurturing

Once you start converting website visitors into leads, it’s time to start building relationships with these people to demonstrate your value and make them know you, like you and prefer you before they need you. We’ll explore and define your best methods for effectively engaging and nurturing your contacts after they’ve given you their information.

Social Media & Advertising

We’ll understand how you’re currently using social media and identify areas of improvement while keeping content at the center of the strategy. We’ll also deliver a social media and advertising strategy that outlines ways to leverage your chosen platform(s) properly for both organic and paid uses. This will also include paid search and retargeting advertising campaigns.

CRM & Automation

Technology exists to make your life easier. This is especially true in marketing. Use automation to make your strategy better and save you time. We’ll show you how to do anything from organizing leads into smart lists, sending thank-you emails and enrolling leads into drip campaigns. We’ll also deliver specific recommendations to best leverage marketing automation in your business.

Sales Enablement

For an organization to grow, it's imperative that the sales and marketing functions be closely-aligned - meaning that marketing produces content and executes its strategy based on the feedback from sales, and sales leverages the content and resources marketing creates to generate quality activity. Ultimately, the goal is to equip your sales team to close more deals.

Customer Engagement

Your customers are your greatest marketing asset, because they possess the ability to buy more products and services and spread the word about your business. We'll define how we can better engage your customers and add more value (beyond their standard business transactions with your company) to increase brand evangelism with up-sells, testimonials and referrals.

Project Details

Timeline

We can typically begin the project within 1 week of the proposal being approved. The project consists of 2-3 fact-finding meetings that function as a combination of an interview and a working session. Following those meetings, we'll take about a week to compile our findings and recommendations into a formal strategy document which we will present to you in person.

Data & Communication

We'll ask for as much information as you're comfortable providing us both up front and throughout the process. (We're happy to sign an NDA.) Although we'll be meeting regularly throughout the duration of the project, we prefer proactive and transparent communication. Feel free to reach us via phone, email or Slack with any questions or comments throughout the process.

Preparation

During our fact-finding meetings, we'll be asking a number of questions about your business to help us understand your products and services, target audiences, available resources and other important factors that will play a role in determining the best growth strategy for your business. Here are some things you should be prepared to know or be able to speak to:

  • Business and growth goals
  • Products and services
  • Target audiences
  • Competitor overview
  • Current CRM and tech stack
  • Website traffic
  • Average monthly lead generation
  • Approximate sales closing rate
  • Existing marketing content
  • Existing sales collateral

Take The Next Step

Go ahead and schedule an exploratory call to discuss this project in more detail. If during our call we determine there's a fit, we'll provide you with a proposal and details about getting started.
