The Benefits and Use Cases for HubSpot CMS Hub
A special presentation for Invest Buffalo Niagara breaking down HubSpot's Content Management System, what's good about it and when you should consider using it.

In some respects, HubSpot's CMS Hub is just like any other CMS. You can manage all your website pages in a simple drag-and-drop editor. You can create templates and saved sections. There's a growing developer community. That's great, but you'll find that with Wordpress and other CMS platforms. Here is how HubSpot's CMS Hub is different.
The Benefits of HubSpot CMS Hub

More easily track more engagement data.
You can look up any contact in your CRM and see every page they've ever visited and when. Plus you can see total sessions, time of first session, time of most recent session and more.
Take action more quickly on prospect and customer behavior, which leads to more opportunities and better customer service.
Because HubSpot connects website data with contact data/behavior (CRM), you can trigger automations based on website behavior. Example: When a lead visits your pricing page, you can automatically send them an email and/or create a task for your sales team to follow-up.

Sales reps can more easily identify and target prospects with real-time engagement info.
Let's say a new lead comes in through the website. The first thing a sales rep should do is check their timeline to see how they came to the website (Google, social media, etc.), which pages they've viewed, which CTAs they've clicked and how they've behaved across the website.
Customer service reps can more easily and proactively respond to customer behavior, which leads to improved retention, NPS, cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, and growth through word of mouth.
The same benefits to the marketing and sales teams can be applied to customer service teams, especially when retention and renewals are important.

Personalize the UX using CRM data to get more conversions and engagement.
Personalization tokens. Display a contact's name, company name, industry or other information unique to them within the text of your website.
Smart content. Customize sections of your entire website based on a contact's location, device type or which list they belong to in your CRM.
Report on the ROI of your content.
The reports are great. Especially because they include not only website metrics, but website metrics connected to contact behaviors. I will admit that for the website metrics by itself, you can't drill down as deep as you can with a tool like Google Analytics.

Have full control of your website, instead of having to rely on a developer for every adjustment.
This leads to more testing, better understanding your audience and what works in your marketing, and the ability to pivot more quickly in a changing market. It's really just a fantastic CMS in terms of how content is created and managed. The drag-and-drop page editor is clean and simple. Anyone can learn it. You can include saved sections and global modules. You can control who can build, edit or publish pages. And it's very easy to customize on the back end.
No plug-ins, which yields a more secure website and less time spent fixing integration issues and managing updates.
Everything is already built-in. And this is why you actually have to pay for the CMS. Wordpress, for example, is technically "free" but not when you factor in all the plugins and maintenance.

This sounds great. Should I use HubSpot for my website?
Yes, provided you're also going to use the HubSpot CRM for marketing, sales and/or service functions. Using HubSpot as the CMS by itself undercuts the major benefits of having your website connected to your CRM. If not, CMS Hub might not be the best fit for your business.
